The University of Northern Iowa football team will host its annual golf outing on June 6 at the Red Carpet Golf Course in Waterloo.

The University of Northern Iowa track and field program will send nine student-athletes to the 2013 NCAA Division I West Preliminary Round in Austin, Texas this week as they get ready to compete May 23-25. The Panthers will compete in 13 events while in Austin, all vying for a spot to compete at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore.

Learfield Sports named Brian Gabel general manager for its Panther Sports Properties (PSP) entity, the multimedia rights holder for University of Northern Iowa Department of Athletics.

University of Northern Iowa softball pitcher Jamie Fisher (Conrad, Iowa) has been named to the 2013 MVC Scholar-Athlete Team.

The University of Northern Iowa volleyball squad is headed to Europe for its foreign tour on May 12-23. lt;br />The Panthers will take part in matches as well as tour spots in France (Paris, Montpellier, Istre and Nice), Italy (Pisa, Florence, Cinque Terre and Torino) and Spain (Barcelona) over the two weeks.
